Donations and Legacies

The Museum of Hunting Trust is a charity. It relies entirely on income from its hunting history events, from legacies and from voluntary donations.

If you would like more information before leaving a legacy or giving a donation, please get in touch with us via the Contact page

If you wish to leave a monetary legacy, this can be a fixed sum or the residue of your estate. Please update your Will (with the assistance of a solicitor if necessary) to include:
"I give [the sum of £___ / the residue of my estate] to the Museum of Hunting Trust (registered charity number 701030) c/o Melton Carnegie Museum, Thorpe End, MELTON MOWBRAY, Leicestershire, LE13 1RB, UK for its general charitable purposes, and the receipt of a duly authorised officer of the Trust shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors"
Alternatively, you may wish to leave other assets such as shares or paintings to the Trust, or leave your assets to your own Trustees for other members of your family to enjoy during their lifetime, with the assets reverting to the Museum of Hunting Trust on their death. If you wish to do either of these, kindly get in touch with us at:

Finally, kindly remember that since the Trust is a registered charity, any legacy is tax free in that its value is deducted from the value of your estate before inheritance tax is assessed,

If you wish to donate, kindly send a cheque (payable to Museum of Hunting Trustees) to the address above.
